What Christmas is all about

We are busy having a great Christmas. Yesterday, the frosting and sprinkles came out, and I do mean out, and we made trees, candy canes, and angels out of sugar cookies. What a blast, James even did a pretty good job, except for all the frosting on his hands, counters, and mouth.
Tomorrow is the Mom's club Christmas party. They will be a Santa, lots of food, and moms having a good time, esp with all the new babies this year.
Thursday we all go up to Jodie's house and have Santa drive up in his garlanded-up fire engine. He even gives out pressies. We will be all dressed up and ready for pics.
Saturday night is the best. The old 1950's fire engine comes out, and we ride atop to visit the neighbors, and sing carols. We pass out candy canes, and really freeze our asses off. But boy is this one fun. Lots of pics to follow.
Next week I plan on doing as much Christmasy crafts and cooking with Sophia and James. I want them to remember the holiday as the best time of the year.
I can't wait to see them open presents this year. Santa told me he is leaving a Wii. And the whole house is going to ROCK!!

Brownies anyone?

Its that time of year, school starting, soccer season, and a group of little girls in girl scouts. Last year's Daisies enjoyed snacks and playing, and who could forget, screaming? And now this year, its bridging over to Brownies. We found a bridge at a local park, and off we go to have them cross over to receive their Brownie vest. Camera please. It should be very cute and sweet. I have been taking classes to become a co-leader in Sophia's troop. I had no idea there was so much to learn in order to be a good leader, but there is. Its very important though, I had no idea there was so much invested in this organization. I am excited for the year, as the girls will earn Try-its and get a coordinating patch for each exercise. Fun stuff. Plus we might even try a camp over, 10 first grade girls, yikes!
More to follow....

They say its not working...

They say its not working (sing it to the Beatles birthday song)
well, how can that be?
It works for me,
so happy day to you.

Ok, lame attempt to be funny. Its too early in the morn, and my throat is Still on fire. This is day 5. How long can one have a sore throat? I did not have tonsils, those were yanked out when I was 5. Last night at dinner, I lost my taster. So I pushed dinner aside. I hate eating when there is no taste. Anyone else?
OK, going to read O'neal's deal.

Just bored

So James is actually sitting in front of the TV, reclining on the chair, quiet, and watching his all time favorite, Curious George. I have looked through my favorite websites, links, and daily hits, and what do you know? I am blogging. I don't know what to say, but I am happy to be doing it. Life is good these days. No one is sick, well hubby has an ear infection, but that is his twice a year gig. Nothing new. The kids are happy it is summer. We hit the pool everyday. Sophia is a fish, and James is slowly learning that the pool is deep when not on the steps. He wears his vest MOST of the time. But once in a while I like to take it off of him, so he knows that he sinks. I don't want him to acquire a false sense of security, and hop in one day when no one is around. Heaven forbid, and God, if you are listening, please NEVER let this happen, AMEN. And it is good. He gets a faceful of water, and gets the fear.
If anyone is reading this, I wish you peace and happiness. I hope life is treating you fairly, and you are happy. Thanks for being my friend.

Puking and Shits

Well, it has been a night. Sophia woke up at 2am, and told me she puked in her bed. Fun. So off goes the sheets, and rinsing them off before they even hit the wash machine. Big chunks don't do well in washer. Dad and her lay on the couch for the rest of the night. I went back to bed only to lie there and worry. What mothers always do. She got sick one more time, and now has some bad dirrhea. Poor child.
She has a birthday party that she has been so excited to attend, but I am afraid she cannot go. I know this is going to break her heart.

My bitching thread

OK, so I looked over my posts on this site, and all I can see is me complaining and being pissed off. What is wrong with me? I should be thankful about all things, instead I am a grumbling mess. I need some tranqs fast! Either that or some happy pills. Anyone have some? Please send asap.
Really my life is good. I stay home with the kids, they love that, or at least Soph does. James is too young to appreciate me. Someday he will though.
I have a nice house, drive a nice SUV (hate the gas bill, but don't we all, own a nice camping trailer, have a great husband, and lots of unconditional love. So really I need to get up off my pity pot, and enjoy life. Because some days are not worth wasting.
Some days are fun. Some days are challenging. Some days are boring, but I know I have some days to live. And for that I am grateful. Amen.
